I am afraid to use any of the products listed here. Can you please help me?

If you are afraid, you can consult your dermatologist for some guidance. If you’d rather not, then I suggest using natural treatments for your acne. There are a lot of natural ingredients you can use such as toothpaste, tea tree oil, citrus fruits, and many others. However, these natural wonders will get rid of your acne after some time unlike the products presented here.

Good Article… Nice explination of diffrent types of products.
Maybe you could review some products containing Salicylic Acid?
I am quite fond of it mainly because it does not dry my skin out as much as Benzoyl Peroxide used to.
Do you have any article with a comparison of diffrent types of active ingredients that goes thru the pros and cons of each?

Thanks for your reply… that article is really good.
You have alot of information here. In your opinion, when salicylic acid causes the outter cells to peel off is that healty or unhealty for the skin?
Another question. Is there a special percentage that is better or worse?
I currently use a “soap free cream” that contains 2% (called salises). Is that ammount good? Will a higher percentage have any added pros or cons?

    Thanks

Why does salicylic acid peel off outer cells of skin? Is it good for the skin?

Salicylic acid is used for precisely that property. It removes the dead cells on the outer layer of the skin and allows for new cell growth. This is why it is used in treatment of dandruff, acne, warts etc. When it is used in large quantities, it tends to be toxic. It should not be used by pregnant women. Consult a dermatologist to find out the appropriate percentage to be used.
